Ubisoft Unveils a Liveless-Action Far Cry TV Series Sneakily Denies Subsequent Announcement

The gaming world is abuzz with excitement over the upcoming Far Cry live-action TV series, currently in active development for FX. This anthology drama promises to deliver a unique viewing experience, with each season set in a new world featuring different characters, reflecting the standalone storytelling style of the popular video game.

The series is co-created by Rob McElhenney, known for his work on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", and Noah Hawley, the creator of "Fargo" and "Alien: Earth". Hawley will act as showrunner and executive producer, while McElhenney will also star and executive produce.

Although Ubisoft initially announced the project on their official site, the announcement was quickly removed, leaving the details somewhat unofficial. However, multiple credible leaks and discussions on platforms like Reddit have corroborated the project's development.

The Far Cry series stands out from other Ubisoft adaptations due to its anthology format, which mirrors the video game's structure. This contrasts with more linear or singular story approaches seen in existing game adaptations. Having a showrunner like Hawley with a strong TV pedigree and McElhenney involved may give Far Cry a unique blend of dark drama and dark comedy, different from the often epic or espionage tones of other Ubisoft adaptations.

However, as of now, FX and Ubisoft have not officially confirmed the show. Despite this, the Far Cry TV series is highly anticipated, setting itself apart from other Ubisoft adaptations through its creatively ambitious structure and strong behind-the-scenes talent.

In the world of gaming, other notable mentions include the Razer Blade 16 as the best gaming laptop, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 PT as the best mini PC, the HP Omen 35L as the best gaming PC, and the Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS ed. as the best handheld gaming PC.

Meanwhile, in the realm of virtual reality, the Meta Quest 3 is the best VR headset. Chris, a long-time writer about PC games, has been covering the industry since the early 2000s and has developed a fascination for offbeat simulation games, ignoring storylines in RPGs, and a love-hate relationship with survival games.

In the realm of anime, Netflix released an anime series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, in 2023, which was well-received. Ubisoft has announced several TV and film adaptations in the past, including an Assassin's Creed TV series, a Beyond Good & Evil animated film, and a Skull & Bones TV show, but many have not materialized.

The reason for taking down the announcement about the Far Cry TV series from Ubisoft's own news site remains unknown. Regardless, the anticipation for this ambitious project continues to grow.
