UAE's Edge of Life Campaign Raises AED2.822 Billion to End Childhood Hunger

The UAE's Edge of Life campaign has raised over AED2.822 billion to fight childhood hunger worldwide. Launched in mid-February 2026, the initiative surpassed its original AED1 billion goal by more than double. The funds will help rescue millions of children from severe malnutrition before Ramadan ends.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the campaign on 13 February 2026. It aimed to save five million children from hunger and protect 30 million more from life-threatening malnutrition. Donations poured in through digital platforms, SMS, and local community drives.

Over 44,208 contributors took part, including individuals, businesses, and major humanitarian groups. Individual donations alone exceeded AED707 million. The effort also secured a $300 million partnership to expand global nutrition programmes.

The campaign worked alongside organisations like UNICEF, Save the Children, and Action Against Hunger. Sheikh Mohammed later praised the public's overwhelming generosity in supporting the cause.

The Edge of Life campaign closed with more than twice its target amount. The funds will now be used to deliver urgent food and nutrition aid to vulnerable children. Partners will focus on scaling up existing programmes to maximise impact.
