UAE Sympathizes with USA, Extends Sympathies to the Casualties of Flood Victims

In the aftermath of the catastrophic flash floods that hit Texas, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended its heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the affected communities and emergency responders.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the United Arab Emirates expressed deep sympathy to the people and government of the United States, expressing its thoughts to those who are facing the consequences of the "heartbreaking destruction" caused by the floods. The UAE Embassy in the US conveyed this sentiment, with Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba specifically stating that their thoughts are with those affected by the floods.

The floods, which resulted from a sudden storm dumping up to 15 inches of rain, have had a devastating impact. At least 59 people have lost their lives, with some sources suggesting that the death toll could rise to nearly 80. Dozens of people remain missing, including 27 girls from a summer camp, and officials have estimated about 41 people still missing statewide.

The floods have caused widespread destruction to homes and vehicles, with rivers such as the Guadalupe River rising drastically within minutes. Over 850 people have been rescued, some from trees and other dangerous places, highlighting the scale of the emergency rescue operations.

US President Donald Trump has declared a "major disaster" for Texas, calling the floods a "100-year catastrophe."
