The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is currently in Georgia for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. Upon arrival at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport, Sheikh Mohamed was warmly welcomed by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Accompanying the UAE President is a high-level delegation, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan. The delegation also includes a number of ministers and senior officials.

The current visit builds on growing momentum in relations between the UAE and Georgia. The discussions between the two leaders focused on paths of cooperation for sustainable development in both countries.

A key topic in the discussions was the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Georgia. The agreement aims to boost trade and investment ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on investment in development projects in Georgia was signed. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills, and Georgian officials were present at the signing event. The MoU is expected to further enhance economic cooperation between the UAE and Georgia.

The Georgian government has announced plans to strengthen relations with the United Arab Emirates through enhanced diplomatic and economic cooperation. The UAE, in turn, has expressed its interest in strengthening its developmental partnerships with countries in the Caucasus region.

Sheikh Mohamed shared that the UAE is keen to build bridges of cooperation that achieve common interests for all. This sentiment was echoed by Prime Minister Kobakhidze, who expressed his gratitude for the UAE's continued support and cooperation.

Earlier this year, on January 27, Prime Minister Kobakhidze visited Abu Dhabi, where discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, renewable energy, and sustainability. The current visit in Georgia is a testament to the progress made since then.

An official ceremony followed the meeting, featuring the playing of the national anthems of the UAE and Georgia. The visit is expected to further solidify the strong relations between the UAE and Georgia, paving the way for a bright future of cooperation and mutual growth.
