UAE firmly expresses disapproval, denounces Israel's resolution to seize control of the Gaza Strip

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned Israel's decision to occupy the Gaza Strip, describing it as a blatant violation of international law. The UAE calls on the international community, including the United Nations and the UN Security Council, to act urgently to halt these illegal practices and protect Palestinian rights.

In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized that safeguarding Palestinian rights is a moral, humanitarian, and legal imperative rather than a political choice. The UAE reaffirms its historic support for the Palestinians and insists that lasting regional stability can only be achieved through a just resolution based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The UAE has not made any new statements about protecting the rights of the Palestinian people as a moral, humanitarian, and legal necessity. However, it has expanded its lifesaving support to Gaza with the 66th relief airdrop, and has sent 13 aid trucks to the region amid the crisis. The UAE is feeding Gaza's hungry through land, sea, and sky humanitarian efforts.

The UAE urges the UN and Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in stopping Israel’s occupation and protecting civilians in Gaza. It rejects any attempts at Palestinian displacement and calls for urgent measures to de-escalate the situation and prevent spillover into the region. The UAE's position aligns with growing international alarm over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, which faces severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies amid the conflict.

While specific international actions vary, there is a clear UAE stance demanding robust multilateral engagement to enforce international law and promote a political horizon toward Palestinian statehood. The UAE's MoFA does not support displacement or escalation in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding Israel’s political moves, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has announced intent to occupy Gaza, potentially handing over governance to Arab forces, but UAE leadership opposes this plan and pushes for counter-strategies that preserve the two-state framework and maintain stability, reflecting a rejection of unilateral occupation measures.

The UAE stands as a vocal critic of Israel’s Gaza occupation, urging international legal and diplomatic interventions aimed at stopping the occupation and advancing a peaceful two-state solution. The UAE warns that the occupation could lead to catastrophic consequences, such as loss of innocent lives and worsening the humanitarian crisis. The UAE has not mentioned any new consequences of the occupation.
