U19 Champions Trophy Scheduled in Düsseldorf, Running from 6th to 10th April 2023

The much-anticipated BV 04 Easter Tournament is set to commence on April 6, marking the 59th edition of this prestigious youth football event. Ten teams from across Europe will be participating, making this year's tournament one of the most diverse yet.

The lineup includes Galatasaray Istanbul, Sporting Charleroi, PSV Eindhoven, Japanese University Selection, Red Bull Football Academy Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Nürnberg, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and the hosts, BV 04.

Defending champions Borussia Mönchengladbach will be aiming to defend their 2022 title, while Galatasaray Istanbul, leaders of the U19 Elite League in Turkey, will be eager to make their mark. Salzburg, who reached the round of 16 in the Youth League, will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Sporting Charleroi, fighting for the championship in the Belgian Elite League, and PSV Eindhoven, who won the fall round of the U19 Eredivisie, will bring strong competition. The Japanese University Selection, who have brought the best players for the university championship to Düsseldorf, will also be a team to watch.

Fortuna Düsseldorf, who finished fourth in the Bundesliga West group, will field national player Daniel Bunk, adding an extra layer of intrigue to their matches. Eintracht Frankfurt, under the guidance of former Bundesliga striker Ervin Skela, will also be a formidable opponent.

1. FC Nürnberg, who had chances for the German championship final but finished third in the Bundesliga South group, will add a competitive edge to the tournament.

Tickets for the tournament range from 3 to 25 euros, with season tickets available as well. Children up to 6 years old have free entry with their parents (ID required). The tournament will take place at the stadium on Roßstraße.

Unfortunately, Dinamo Zagreb, the winner of the last Easter tournament before the pandemic in 2019, had to withdraw from this year's tournament due to personnel reasons.
