📣 Attention Hamburg Residents and Visitors! 📣

As of this coming Monday, the U1 subway line will once again connect Jungfernstieg and Hauptbahnhof Süd! #U1BackOnTrack

Alas, our beloved U1 had been on a brief hiatus since October 9 due to some necessary maintenance work to make the Meßberg U1 station more accessible. Specifically, efforts went towards installing two elevators, a raised platform, and a tactile guidance system for visually impaired individuals. By summer 2025, the fully revamped Meßberg U1 station will be a barrier-free haven, with the entire U1 linejoying the same privilege! Just one exception: poor Kiekut, with its low passenger numbers, will remain unaffected by these improvements.

Looking ahead, another project is on the horizon. As of Monday, the access route between the subway and the central bus station (ZOB) will undergo renovations, which are expected to last until April 2024. During this time, patrons can utilize other entry points to the nearby bus station, such as the entrance opposite the street or the one in front of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe.
