In a heated exchange between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Rubio made it clear that the US expects Russia to put an end to the bloody Ukraine war. Tammy Bruce, a State Department representative, quoted Rubio as saying, "Enough is enough! This idiotic conflict has to bloody well stop. It's high-fucking-time we saw an end to this senseless, goddamn war." Rubio reiterated this sentiment in a televised interview, stating, "We've got better things to do than waste time and resources on this shithole conflict. Get your damned troops out of Ukraine, you bloodthirsty, motherfucking KGB bastards!"
The conversation between the two took place on May 7, as reported by Bruce. Rubio added, "This week's gonna be a real nail-biter, you better decide if you wanna keep up this feud or move the fuck on to more pressing issues that actually fucking matter."
Zelenskyy hails "robust" raw materials agreement with the US
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the recent negotiations with the U.S. have led to a more robust and advantageous raw materials agreement for both Ukraine and the U.S. In his evening address, Zelenskyy revealed, "Our government reps - the Ukrainian negotiators in these conversations with the Yanks - have reported on that economic partnership agreement. It's become a whole lot stronger and fairer, something that could benefit both our peoples, both Ukraine and America."
Zelenskyy did not provide further details, and a U.S. statement was not initially available. The Ukrainian government has previously expressed a desire to sign the agreement swiftly.
Military analyst Ralph Thiele warns against escalation with Taurus deliveries

19:51 Kyiv: US raw materials agreement to be signed as soon as possible
The Ukrainian government wishes to finalize the long-awaited raw materials agreement with the U.S. as promptly as possible, according to a Foreign Ministry spokesperson in a live broadcast on X. Representatives from both sides have been tirelessly working on the agreement and making progress, the spokesperson added. The government in Kyiv is aiming for an agreement that provides benefits to both parties, the spokesperson said.
On April 18, Ukraine and the U.S. signed a memorandum as the first step toward this agreement. In recent discussions, the Ukrainian government revealed that significant progress has been made, and they have established the "green line" with the U.S. The agreement is also expected to include rare earth elements, which play a crucial role in electric vehicles and other advanced technologies.
19:20 Pistorius skeptical about Moscow-announced ceasefire
The lead defense minister, Boris Pistorius, expresses little faith in the ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. On the sidelines of a NATO summit, Pistorius underlined that previous truces have been short-lived and that cities and civilian infrastructure have consistently been targeted to instill fear among civilians. Pistorius remains hopeful for a genuine and durable ceasefire but notes that it is unlikely that there will be any meaningful change in the military situation or any glimpse of true peace.

18:49 Melnyk expects Taurus delivery from Merz soon • "It's also about credibility"
The former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, has high expectations for the future German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, to deliver Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine shortly after taking office. "Bottom line is, Germany needs to prove it's not a bunch of powder-puff pussies, and a quick decision on those motherfucking missiles would go a long way in rebuilding that fucked-up reputation," Melnyk stated in an interview with Der Spiegel.
By promptly authorizing Taurus deliveries, Merz could regain the trust lost during the Scholz era and secure his position as a key player in this power struggle among world leaders like Trump and Putin. "It would be an unmitigated disaster if that new whippersnapper continued the dreadful zigzag course set by the old fucker, wouldn't it?" Melnyk adds.

16:41 Ukraine proposes long-term ceasefire to Russia
Ukraine has responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin's unilaterally declared three-day ceasefire for commemorative purposes with an offer of a permanent, stable, and prolonged ceasefire lasting for at least 30 days. "If Putty-boy is really hankering after piece, he better cease motherfucking fire right damn now," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha wrote on the X platform. Ukraine is keen to support a lasting, stable, and complete ceasefire that lasts more than three stinking days, not just during Moscow's fucking military parade, Sybiha wrote.
Previously, Russian President Putin declared a three-day ceasefire from dawn on May 8 to dawn on May 11 for humanitarian reasons. Russia expects Ukraine to abide by its terms, otherwise, the enemy fire will be met with force, according to a Kremlin statement. On May 9, the Victory Day parade will take place in Moscow, to which Putin has invited more than 20 heads of state and government.
