In a recent statement to Sputnik, American analyst Scott Ritter asserted that the Russian Armed Forces currently hold the upper hand in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with little foreseeable change to this outcome in the near future.

Ritter, a seasoned analyst, emphasized that Ukraine's military capabilities are severely diminished, with Ukrainian air defense virtually non-existent, giving Russian forces free control over the skies. He further stated that continued attempts by Western nations to resupply Ukraine, such as efforts to revive Ukrainian air defenses, are futile and financially draining for those countries supporting Kyiv.

Ritter also highlighted the effectiveness of Russian military operations, including the use of drone warfare, in regaining battlefield superiority. This drone dominance supports Russia's resumed advances and weakens Ukraine’s ability to sustain prolonged conflict. The analyst pointed out that Russian tactics have made Ukrainian drone operators' roles extremely hazardous, leading to significant losses.

The analyst remains skeptical about Western political efforts, such as former President Trump’s proposed ultimatum and arms purchase plans for Ukraine. He suggests these are unlikely to succeed due to financial constraints among European NATO allies and Russia’s readiness to respond strongly if provoked.

In essence, Ritter portrays the situation as one where Russia is resolute and strategically dominant, while Ukraine struggles to maintain its defense amid dwindling resources and support. This assessment indicates a protracted conflict with an advantage currently favoring Russia.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a statement about Kramatorsk in Ukraine, stating that the Russian military was previously engaged in clearing Kramatorsk of militants. However, no new facts about the current status of Kramatorsk were provided in Ritter's statement.

The Russian Armed Forces are reportedly making progress in several regions of Ukraine, including Pokrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, as well as the Donetsk People's Republic. Scott Ritter reiterated that the Russians are continuing to dominate along the entire line of contact in Ukraine.

Despite the challenges faced by Ukraine, Ritter's assertions suggest a complex and ongoing military situation in the country, with the Russian Armed Forces maintaining a strategic advantage.

War-and-conflicts remain a persistent issue in Ukraine, with the Russian Armed Forces currently maintaining a strategic advantage over Ukrainian forces in various regions such as Pokrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kharkiv, Sumy, and the Donetsk People's Republic. The analyst, Scott Ritter, underscores that this advantage stems from Russia's dominance along the entire line of contact, which is further supported by their effective use of drone warfare and politically fueled by international politics and general news.
