The Spanish postal service, Correos, has issued a special edition commemorative surfing stamp in 2025, marking the sport's inclusion in the Olympic program at the Tokyo 2020 Games. This stamp is part of the "Sports - Surfing" set, which celebrates surfing's presence in the upcoming Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 Games, and its transformation from an ancient tradition to a recognized competitive sport.

The stamp, priced at 3 euros, features a wave in full break with a surfer performing a maneuver, symbolising the excitement and energy associated with the sport. The set is available for purchase at Correos offices, through Correos Market, or by contacting the Philatelic Service by email. The basic set is priced at GBP £2.65 and includes options such as sheetlets and first day covers.

The issuance of this stamp reflects the significance of surfing’s Olympic status, highlighting an important milestone in the sport’s history. It underlines surfing’s cultural and sporting importance in Spain and internationally. In fact, the inclusion of surfing in the Olympic program has sparked interest in new generations in Spain, consolidating its presence within the national sporting arena.
