In a thrilling finale at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, USA, on September 8 (September 7, Manila time), Carlos Alcaraz clinched his second US Open title. The young Spanish sensation defeated Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Alcaraz's triumphant victory marked his seventh title of the season and his sixth Grand Slam win, making him a formidable force in the world of tennis. His consistent performance throughout the tournament was particularly noteworthy, as he ended the US Open with a 13-match winning streak.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Alcaraz expressed his delight at achieving the No. 1 ranking and winning another Grand Slam on the same day. He stated, "Achieving the No. 1 ranking and winning another Grand Slam feels incredible. It's a dream come true."

Alcaraz's coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, highlighted his evolution since winning his first major in 2022. Ferrero mentioned, "Carlos has shown remarkable adaptability following his Wimbledon heartbreak earlier in the year. He now reads big moments better and arrives on court calmer and clearer."

The current training partner of Alcaraz, aiming to win the Australian Open and achieve a Career Grand Slam, is Jerome Kym. Alcaraz's second US Open title marked his evolution from impulsiveness to measured maturity over the last three years.

Reflecting on his latest victory, Alcaraz described this US Open title as a sign of his maturity compared to his first title, which represented his youth. He further stated that his goal is to complete a career Grand Slam as soon as possible, whether it's next year, in two, three, or four years.

Ferrero also emphasized that Alcaraz still has room to grow, stating, "Thinking he's perfect would be a mistake. There's always room for improvement." Nonetheless, it's clear that Alcaraz is well on his way to achieving tennis greatness.

With this victory, Alcaraz becomes the youngest player since Pete Sampras in 1993 to win multiple US Open titles. His journey continues as he sets his sights on the Australian Open, aiming to complete a career Grand Slam.
