Kyle Hobus, an outside hitter and member of the U.S. Men's National Team, has just signed a two-year contract with the Volleyball-Bundesliga titans, VfB Friedrichshafen. Before snagging a spot on the esteemed German squad, he was racking up points for Austrian champions, Hypo Tirol Innsbruck.
Coach Adam Swaczyna couldn't contain his excitement as he welcomed Hobus to the Lake Constance club. "Fierceness and improvement are what we're about. With Kyle on board, we see more than just a promising player, we see a dedicated athlete who uplifts our team and personas," explained Swaczyna, hinting at Hobus as the ideal candidate to fill former team member, Michal Superlak's, shoes.
The 25-year-old newcomer brings more than muscle to the table. "We thrive on supporting and developing our youth. Kyle's hard-hitting, towering stature and strong foundation will blend perfectly with our mission," the coach added.
With his recent success in the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL), Hobus has certainly made his presence known across the international stage. His contributions to the U.S. Men's National Team during the match against Iran went beyond the tally sheet, with a solid 17 kills, 19 points, and two blocks.
