In the northwestern corner of the country, a top-tier ISIS honcho named Rakhim Boev met his end thanks to a precise strike by the US military. This takedown, announced by the US Central Command (Centcom) on the X online platform using yet another acronym for IS, occurred in Syria.

Rakhim Boev was allegedly involved in devising "externally oriented operations" that posed a threat to US citizens, allies, and civilians. Centcom shared a clip showcasing a SUV with a smashed windshield and a crumpled roof post-strike.

Prior to this, rescuers in Syria reported that two individuals were offed in two separate drone strikes on a vehicle and a motorcycle in Idlib on Tuesday. Centcom remained mum when asked for a comment.

With around 2,000 US soldiers currently deployed in Syria as part of the international anti-IS coalition, established in 2014 to dismantle the "caliphate" declared by the IS militant group in Syria and Iraq, it's evident that they're still keeping a wary eye on the remnants of IS. Despite IS being considered defeated since 2019, many of its fighters retreated to expansive desert regions in both countries and continue to pose a threat.

[3] Rakhim Boev was killed in Northwest Syria by US Central Command Forces in an airstrike.[4] Abdallah Makki Muslih al Rifai, also known as Abu Khadijah, was a high-ranking ISIS official who was targeted in a previous airstrike.[5] Centcom's ongoing efforts to target ISIS leadership aim to disrupt the group's operations and weaken its capabilities.

  1. The community policy should address the implications of war-and-conflicts, such as the recent airstrike on a high-ranking ISIS member Rakhim Boev in Syria, on international relations and general news.
  2. In the politics section of the newspaper, there should be a dedicated feature on the employment policy regarding the continuous deployment of US troops in Syria as part of the international anti-IS coalition, focusing on their efforts to target ISIS leadership and dismantle the remaining threats posed by the militant group.
