Interview with the New Chief of Controversial Gaza Aid Group

In an exclusive interview, we discussed the chaotic and deadly aid distribution campaign spearheaded by the United States-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) with its new executive chairman, Reverend Dr. Johnnie Moore.

With dozens of people reported dead near the GHF aid centers and one site shut down just 10 days after opening, Moore painted a different picture. "I believe we've distributed 10 million meals to Gazans already," Moore asserted. But with a population of around 2.2 million, it's clear that there's much more work to be done.

The UN and international aid organizations have expressed concerns about the politicization of aid -- claiming that the GHF's operations are part of Israel's military strategy. Moore strongly denies this, stating that they're communicating with the IDF to manage the "secure corridors" and maintain safety. Regarding funding, Moore remains tight-lipped.

The GHF faced criticism early on, with executive director Jake Wood resigning just before the aid plan launched due to concerns about the group's impartiality. Now under new management, Moore is optimistic about scaling up operations and hopes to eventually collaborate with major aid agencies.

As of now, some sites have been reopened, but the extent of aid distribution remains uncertain. Moore aims to establish significantly more distribution centers and is hopeful that bigger organizations will eventually cooperate with GHF.
