In an exciting turn of events, the K-pop song 'Golden' has made history by climbing to the top spot on both Billboard's Hot 100 and the British Official Singles Chart Top 100. This marks the second K-pop song to achieve this feat since 'Gangnam Style' in 2012.

Sung by the fictional girl group Huntrix, 'Golden' is the first such song by female vocalists to reach No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. The song has been a summer sensation since its release in June, becoming the summer's biggest pop hit.

'Golden' is not just a hit in the US, but it has also made waves in the UK. It has beaten out Alex Warren's 'Ordinary' for the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100, and it represents another landmark moment for the globally dominating South Korean genre, as commented by Martin Talbot, CEO of Official Charts.

The song is from the soundtrack of Netflix's 'KPop Demon Hunters', and the voices of Huntrix are Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. Interestingly, this is the first time a K-pop act has topped the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 since Psy's 'Gangnam Style' in 2012.

The Billboard Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the US based on streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. The chart ranking is compiled by Official Charts Co, which takes into account audio and video streams, downloads, CDs, and vinyl sales.

This marks the ninth song associated with Korean pop to reach the highest spot on Billboard's Hot 100, following in the footsteps of several songs by BTS, including 'Seven', 'Like Crazy', 'Dynamite', 'Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)' (BTS Remix), 'Life Goes On', 'Butter', and 'Permission to Dance'.

'Golden' is also the second song associated with Korean pop to reach the highest spot on a major international chart, following 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' on the Billboard Indonesia Hot 100 chart. It's worth noting that this is the first No. 1 on the Billboard Indonesia Hot 100 chart by any fictional act since "We Don't Talk About Bruno" in February-March 2022.

As we look forward, it seems that K-pop continues to dominate the global music scene, with 'Golden' setting a new benchmark for future success.

The success of 'Golden' by Huntrix signifies a significant movement in pop-culture, as it becomes the first female-vocalist K-pop song to reach No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. Additionally, this music sensation has extended its global impact, making history as the second K-pop song to top both Billboard's Hot 100 and the British Official Singles Chart Top 100.
