Russia Slams Ukraine with 452 Air Targets – Missiles and Drones – in Massive Nighttime Assault, June 5-6, 2025
The Russians unleashed a fury of 452 air attacks on Ukraine, using missiles, drones, and a handful of ballistic and cruise missiles, initiating a devastating assault from 20:00 on June 5, 2025. The attack targeted numerous locations, with debris falling in 19 spots throughout the country.
The Russians launched their arsenal from several key cities, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Hvardiivske in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as from Dzhankoi in Crimea. The attack deployed 407 Shahed drones, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 36 Kh-101 cruise missiles, two Iskander-K cruise missiles, and a single Kh-31P anti-radiation missile.
Ukraine's air defense forces were hot on their tail, managing to down 406 Russian air attack assets across the nation. The downed drones included 199 Shahed-type UAVs and 169 other unidentified drones, either eliminated by fire weapons or discretely neutralized by electronic warfare. Among the destroyed missiles were four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and two Iskander-K cruise missiles, with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles missing their mark. The toll included 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
The relentless attack left 13 sites battered, while debris landed in 19 locations across Ukraine. The Ukrainian forces bravely fought back with aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups.

While details of the recent attack are pouring in, mixed reports indicate that at least six civilians were killed, and around 80 others were injured. Among the deceased were three emergency responders in Kyiv, one person in Lutsk, and two in Chernihiv. The attack has disrupted essential services, including electricity and transportation.
