Racehorse Big Gypsy King makes its debut, with heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury cheering from the owners' box at Doncaster.

"Tyson Fury, the boxing champion, observed his racehorse, Big Gypsy King, compete at Doncaster from the proprietors' viewing area, delighting in his humble origins."

In a surprising turn of events, Tyson Fury's racehorse, Big Gypsy King, didn't quite live up to expectations at the Doncaster racecourse on August 2, 2025. The two-time heavyweight world champion and legend of British boxing watched as his three-year-old filly finished 11th and was beaten by 21.5 lengths.

Big Gypsy King, named after Fury himself, started the race as a 7-1 shot. The horse, trained by David Simcock, was quick out of the stalls and held a good early position near the pace under jockey Luke Morris. However, the race took a disappointing turn for the Fury team, with Big Gypsy King never travelling well during the run.

It's worth noting that this performance was a far cry from Big Gypsy King's impressive win at Chelmsford in May, where the filly showed great promise. The recent run at Doncaster marked a disappointing return from a break.

As for Tyson Fury's own boxing career, there is no clear information about his plans for a comeback. Despite expressing his longing for the ring every day, Fury has been away from boxing for seven months and has not announced any concrete plans for a return in 2026.

Rumours of a mega-fight against Anthony Joshua have been circulating, but no official announcements have been made. Fury has been busy filming the second season of "At Home With The Furys" and has stated that he does not plan to make any comebacks this year.

Despite his age of 37, Fury remains optimistic about his future in boxing, believing he can still put on good nights in the ring. The Fury team has previously enjoyed success on the track with Big Gypsy King, and it remains to be seen if they can replicate that success in the boxing ring.

The 20-minute delay to the race at Doncaster was due to one of Big Gypsy King's rivals getting upset in the stalls. Fury was at the racecourse with his family, supporting his horse in person. As of now, no further information about Big Gypsy King's next race or Tyson Fury's boxing plans has been announced.

Despite Big Gypsy King's impressive past performance, the three-year-old filly finished disappointingly at the Doncaster racecourse, losing by 21.5 lengths and failing to replicate her success from Chelmsford. Tyson Fury, named after the horse, found himself in a similar predicament in the world of sports, with no clear plans for a boxing comeback, seven months since his last fight.
