Tyson Fury declares his intention to remain retired, dealing a significant setback to potential bout against Anthony Joshua.

Tyson Fury, known as 'The Gypsy King', has confirmed his retirement from boxing, claiming he is happy and content with his achievements. Fury lost his second consecutive bout to Oleksandr Usyk in January this year.

In a video posted on Instagram from Lake Como, Italy, on Saturday, Fury addressed rumors of a return to the ring. He questioned what he would return for, stating he has won 22 belts and has accomplished much. He further stated that he is content with what he has achieved and has no desire to get his face punched in again.

Fury's past actions have led some to speculate that his retirement may be temporary. In the past, he has announced retirement only to return to the ring. However, in his recent announcement, he clearly expressed his intention to stay retired.

Negotiations between Fury and fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua have been ongoing for over a decade, but Fury's retirement will likely derail any hope of an all-British showdown between the two. They came closest to fighting in 2020 when both men held all four major heavyweight titles. The potential fight was scrapped when a U.S. judge ruled in favor of Deontay Wilder, who was due a trilogy bout with Fury.

Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, expressed confidence that the fight can be easily made during an interview with talkSPORT at the end of April. However, Fury's retirement now seems to have put an end to any hope of an all-British heavyweight title bout.

In the past, Fury has taken time off from boxing due to mental health struggles. He retired after his fight with David Haye collapsed in 2013 and again in 2016 after beating Dillian Whyte. His recent announcement comes after Daniel Dubois knocked out Joshua at Wembley Stadium last September. Dubois will now fight Usyk for a chance to become the first British undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

Tyson Fury, the former boxing champion, revealed in a video on Instagram that he has no intention of returning to the ring, even in the face of ongoing negotiations between him and fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua. This decision might thwart any prospects of an all-British heavyweight title bout, a possibility that had come close to materializing in 2020 when both fighters held all four major heavyweight titles. In the past, Fury has shown an interest in other sports, such as UFC, football, and even F1, possibly hinting at a potential shift in his athletic focus.
