Typhoon-damaged bridge in Lazovsky district set for 2026 reopening
A key bridge in the Lazovsky municipal district is undergoing major repairs after typhoon damage. The structure, located on the Zvezdochka–Chistovodnoye highway, serves as the only direct link between the settlement and the district centre. Work is expected to finish by April 2026, with traffic currently diverted via a temporary route. The 36-metre bridge, with a 6-metre-wide carriageway and a 20-tonne load limit, was severely affected by a typhoon. Repairs are being carried out by JSC Mostostroitelny, which is reinforcing the abutments and restoring the span blocks. The bridge is vital for access to the Chistovodnoye sanatorium, as well as for local residents travelling to the district hub.
Until completion, drivers must use a temporary detour. The project follows earlier damage, though records of the original construction time or past repairs remain unclear. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the typhoon's impact or the bridge's earlier maintenance history.
Once reopened in 2026, the bridge will restore the main transport link for Chistovodnoye. The repairs aim to ensure safe passage for vehicles up to 20 tonnes. Residents and visitors to the sanatorium will no longer need to rely on the detour route.
