Two-wheeler vehicles manufactured by Yamaha will experience a reduction in price, with the maximum decrease amounting to ₹17,500, following the GST cuts implemented from September 22.

Yamaha Motor India Group has announced price cuts across its two-wheeler lineup, aiming to provide relief to buyers amidst sluggish sales, particularly in rural markets where affordability is crucial. The company insists that the entire benefit of the lower GST will be passed on to buyers without any deductions.

The changes in prices are notable across various models. The RayZR and Fascino, two popular scooter models from Yamaha, are now cheaper by approximately ₹7,700 and ₹8,500, respectively. The R15, a halo sportbike from Yamaha, now costs ₹1.94 lakh, down by ₹17,581.

In addition, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid and FZ-X, two everyday models from Yamaha, have dropped by about ₹12,000 each. The Aerox 155, a maxi-scooter from Yamaha, sees a cut of nearly ₹12,800. Another popular motorcycle, the MT15, is now cheaper by almost ₹15,000.

However, the price of the Yamaha RX 100 remains unchanged. It remains to be seen if Yamaha will announce any price adjustments for this model in the future.

The launch of the 2025 Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid with new features is also noteworthy. Priced from ₹80,750, this hybrid scooter is set to offer an eco-friendly and affordable commuting solution.

Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, expressed gratitude for the government’s decision on lowering GST for two-wheelers. He believes that the lower prices mixed with festive sentiment will stimulate momentum not just for Yamaha but across the two-wheeler segment.

The lower GST on two-wheelers could help stimulate demand, especially during the festive season. Though modest in absolute terms, the GST relief provides psychological comfort and can influence purchase decisions during this period.

Yamaha's strategy is seen as a clever positioning move, emphasizing affordability in a market where it competes with Hero, Honda, KTM, and Bajaj. The company seems to be betting that lower prices mixed with festive sentiment will stimulate momentum in the two-wheeler market.
