Meat, Liquor, and Shards on the A5 - Two Truck Crashes on A5 in Hessen Cause €300K Damage, No Injuries
Two serious accidents on the A5 in Hessen on Tuesday morning caused significant property damage and traffic disruption. Remarkably, all drivers involved escaped unharmed.
The first incident occurred around 1:15 AM, when a collision between two trucks resulted in a spill of food, champagne, and spirits across both lanes, leading to a temporary closure of the highway. Around 2:15 AM, another truck carrying 16 tons of meat overturned, spilling its load across two lanes and causing congestion during the morning rush hour.
The estimated property damage from the first accident is at least 300,000 euros. Despite the extensive damage and disruption, all three drivers involved in the accidents were uninjured.
