Two to three times weekly, the image of Motorhead's Phil Campbell is haunted by Lemmy Kilmister, reprimanding him about some issue: Campbell readies the reveal of an eight-foot bronze statue of his comrade.

Get ready, rock 'n' roll fans! The long-awaited bronze statue of the legendary Motörhead frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, is finally going up in his hometown of Stoke-On-Trent. This Friday, Burslem's Market Place will be graced with a 8ft tall, 2.25-meter bronze depiction of Lemmy, immortalizing him in all his glory.

Created by local sculptor Andy Edwards, the statue features Lemmy holding his iconic Rickenbacker bass guitar and positioning a microphone downwards, just like in his live performances. In a touching tribute, some of Lemmy's ashes are enshrined within the statue's plinth.

The project came to fruition through the support of Motörhead's management and the band's passionate fans, who rallied together to contribute the £50,000 needed for the statue's creation. Edwards shared, "They gave us credibility." The design underwent a few tweaks to meet the requirements of the local council, such as increasing the plinth from 2.5m to 3m and changing the material from polished black granite to sandstone to match nearby architectural structures.

Friday's event will kick off with a motorcade starting from Grumpy's bar, making a brief drive to the statue installation site in Burslem's Market Place. There, Phil Campbell will deposit Lemmy's ashes and share a few heartfelt words in remembrance. The celebration doesn't end there, though – it's off to Grumpy's for the official afterparty!

Edwards reflected, "He liked nothing better than seeing people enjoy themselves. The main event is people meeting other people." So join the party and celebrate the life and legacy of one of rock 'n' roll's most iconic figures – Lemmy Kilmister!

On a side note, Lemmy passed away on December 28, 2015, four days after his 70th birthday. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer just two days before his death. Today, his legacy lives on through the "Lemmy Forever" movement, aiming to preserve the spirit of Motörhead for fans around the world. Glory to the motorhead! 🤘🚀

Celebrate the weekend with music and entertainment as rock 'n' roll fans gather to honor the memory of legendary Motörhead frontman, Lemmy Kilmister. Immerse yourself in the iconic presence of celebrities like Phil Campbell, as they pay tribute to Lemmy by depositing his ashes during the unveiling ceremony of the bronze statue in Stoke-On-Trent.
