The investigation into the daring escape of notorious drug trafficker Mohamed Amra from a detention center in Evreux, France, has taken a significant turn. On August 13, 2024, the Minister of Justice, Gerald Darmanin, announced the extradition of two men from Morocco, suspected of playing key roles in the violent ambush that enabled Amra's escape.

The two men, Alan Gomes and Albinou Da Sylva, were wanted by arrest warrants and had been on the run abroad for several months. They were arrested in Morocco nine months after Amra's arrest in Romania. The Minister of Justice thanked the Moroccan authorities for making the extradition operation possible quickly.

The escape of Amra, also known as "The Fly", cost the lives of two prison officers and injured three others. The focus of the investigation remains on those suspected of involvement in the deadly attack and those implicated in aiding Amra's months-long evasion of capture.

In addition to rapper Koba LaD, who is already incarcerated awaiting trial for a separate fatal car accident in 2024, at least 41 suspects are under investigation in connection with Amra's case. Thirty of these individuals are currently in provisional detention, while the identities of the others have not been publicly disclosed.

Alan Gomes is considered by investigators to be part of the commando that attacked the prison van transporting Amra. The two men are suspected of having played an essential role in his escape.

The investigation into Amra's escape has been extensive, with French authorities taking measures including international cooperation and deploying hundreds of investigators to pursue all suspects related to the case. The run of Amra ended on February 22, 2025, in Bucharest, where he was finally apprehended.

As the investigation continues, the public awaits further developments in the case, with hopes that justice will be served for the victims and their families. The extradition of Alan Gomes and Albinou Da Sylva marks a significant step forward in this complex and high-profile case.
