Two Russian Cities Issue Air Quality Alert Amid Hazardous Weather

Two Russian cities, Chita and Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky, are facing poor air quality due to unfavourable weather. Authorities have declared first-degree adverse conditions for December 4, warning residents of potential health risks during this period.

The alert takes effect from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday. During this time, weather patterns will trap pollutants close to the ground, preventing them from dispersing into the atmosphere. This concentration of harmful particles may affect visibility and respiratory health.

The adverse weather conditions will last for eight hours on December 4. Residents are advised to stay informed about air quality updates and take precautions. The event remains a localised issue, with no wider regional alerts reported.
