Delayed Passengers Run onto Runway - Criminal Proceedings - Two Men Storm Cologne Airport Tarmac in Wild Bid to Catch Cheap Flights

Two men forced their way onto the tarmac at Cologne/Bonn Airport on Friday evening in a desperate attempt to catch their cheap flights. They smashed an emergency switch and broke through a secured door before being stopped by security staff.

The incident began when the pair realised they had missed their scheduled flights to Bucharest. Instead of following standard procedures, they took extreme action to reach the aircraft. An airport security officer quickly intervened, detaining them until federal police arrived.

The men were prevented from boarding the plane after their breach. Authorities confirmed that, despite the dramatic scene, there was no threat to aviation security. Their names have not been released to the public.

Criminal proceedings for trespassing have now been launched against both individuals. Investigators are also examining whether their actions violated the Aviation Security Act.

The two men now face legal consequences for their actions. Their attempt to bypass security measures led to an investigation and missed flights. Airport operations resumed as normal after the incident was resolved.
