Two Legendary Choirs Unite for a Night of Music and Heartfelt Tributes

A recent concert brought together the Woringen Singers and the Herbishofen Male Choir for an evening of varied performances. The event featured nautical melodies, African rhythms, and heartfelt tributes to long-serving members. Both choirs closed the night with a joint rendition of Amazing Grace, leaving the audience in high spirits.

The Woringen Singers kicked off the concert with lively numbers, including Good to Be Back Again and I Never Wanted to Grow Up. Christina Sauter took the spotlight with a solo performance, setting an energetic tone for the evening.

The Herbishofen Male Choir followed, delivering songs like Across the Sea and Adelita. Their set also included the playful Men Are Just Irresistible and a Udo Jürgens medley to close the first half. As a gesture of goodwill, they presented the Woringen Singers with a gift basket of wine.

In the second segment, the Woringen Singers returned with nautical and African-themed pieces. Hanna Benz-Hilgarth performed a solo in The Lion Sleeps Tonight, adding to the evening’s diversity. The choir later honoured their fellow singers with Amigos Para Siempre—Friends for Life, accompanied by instrumentalists.

The concert also recognised long-standing contributions. Michael Honold was celebrated for 60 years of service, while Georg Scheitzeneder, named an honorary member, marked 50 years with the choir. Alfred Oexle was acknowledged for half a century of managing sheet music.

The evening concluded with both choirs uniting for Thanks to the Friends—Amazing Grace, sealing the night as a memorable success.

The concert showcased a mix of musical styles and paid tribute to dedicated choristers. The joint finale left a lasting impression, reinforcing the bond between the two choirs. Audience members and performers alike departed with a sense of shared celebration.
