Two individuals suffered injuries at the hands of the Russian military in Sumchyn.
Breaking: Russian Forces Drop Bombs on Civilian Areas of Shostka District on May 2, Causing Injuries
In a chilling turn of events, Russian forces reportedly dropped two guided aerial bombs on civilian infrastructure in Seredyno-Budska community, Shostka district, Sumy Region, on May 2, 2025, at around 16:30.
According to preliminary data, the resulting enemy attack left a 50-year-old and a 55-year-old civilian men injured and hospitalized.
Prosecutors, in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, are actively documenting the aftermath of the attack.
The Sumy Region has recently faced intense escalation, with nearly 130 shellings hitting 43 settlements in 14 communities between May 2 and May 3. These attacks, involving guided aerial bombs, FPV drones, and VOG grenades dropped from UAVs, were most prevalent in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
Separately, an air strike on Shostka community territory caused damage to infrastructure, residential buildings, an educational institution, social facilities, and vehicles, but no fatalities or injuries were reported from this specific incident.
On this fateful day, two civilians were also wounded in the Seredyno-Budska community of the Shostka district due to the relentless Russian shelling. These shocking incidents underscore the continuing threats to the region's safety and security.
