Two individuals arrested for intentional vehicle arson in Sector 78, Mohali
After a hot pursuit led by none other than Inspector Harminder Singh and his top-notch CIA team, the culprits of the sensational Hyundai Verna car arson case that occurred in Sector 78 are finally in the clutches of the law.
The infamous duo, Ashu, 21, and Chandan alias Chanchal, 19, from Mundi Kharar, have been arrested from a park in Bangala Basti.
While their accomplices, Kapil of Haryana and Kirpal Singh aka Pala from Kharar, remain elusive for now, they're next on the wanted list.
Investigators have revealed that the crime was orchestrated under the sinister command of Kapil, who is believed to be the mastermind of this heinous act.
The entire sordid incident was recorded by CCTV cameras, which captured the chilling scene of three youths pouring petrol over the parked Hyundai Verna and setting it ablaze, before fleeing the scene in a Volkswagen Polo. The commotion from the explosion awakened the slumbering residents as the car rapidly engulfed in flames.
According to the victim, Mandeep Singh, the incident occurred at 12:44 AM, when the trio arrived at the scene with petrol-filled bottles and proceeded to commit the dastardly act. It transpires that Kapil had an unresolved financial dispute with Mandeep, which led to this sinister plan. Allegedly, the accused even went as far as attaching a fake number plate to the car they used to reach the crime scene.
With Kapil's maternal cousin, Gurdhian Singh who resides in Canada, implicated in the case, it seems that this saga of retribution is far from over.
