Ready for a Ferris Bueller reunion? Matt Broderick and Alan Ruck team up again in new comedy!

Gear up, folks! It's been nearly four decades since the iconic high school comedy "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" mesmerized audiences worldwide. And guess what? Two of its leading stars, Matthew Broderick (63) and Alan Ruck (68), are all set to share the screen once more! According to Deadline, the dynamic duo is currently in discussions to star in the forthcoming buddy comedy "The Best Is Yet to Come."

The film's roots can be traced back to the French movie "Le meilleur reste à venir," released in cinemas under the title "Das Beste kommt noch" in 2020. If this title seems familiar, it's likely because Til Schweiger (61) shot the material in 2023 under the same title "Das Beste kommt noch!" and starred in one of the main roles.

Summer movie schedule taking shape?

As per the report, Allan Loeb has been roped in as the screenwriter, and Jon Turteltaub is on board as the director for the American remake. Dimitri Rassam, the producer of the French original, is also lined up to produce the U.S. version. If things progress smoothly, production could commence as early as this summer.

The concept revolves around two dissimilar, aging friends who, after a misunderstanding, believe the other is close to the end, spurring them to seize their remaining time together and embark on a memorable road trip to celebrate their bond. In essence, the film may be considered an unofficial sequel to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

After a notable appearance in the comedy "No Hard Feelings," Matthew Broderick is gearing up for the new project. Alan Ruck, acknowledged for his role in the hit series "Succession," also joins the forthcoming film.
