Two female individuals sexually assaulted by employees at a private swimming pool in Narela.
In a shocking incident, two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping two nine-year-old girls at a privately owned swimming pool in Lampur, near North Delhi's Narela area. The crime took place on August 5, 2025.
The victims, who live in a slum in Bawana, had visited the pool without informing their families. The accused, Anil Kumar (37) and Munil Kumar (24), were workers at the pool. Anil Kumar was a contractor, while Munil Kumar was the caretaker.
The first information report (FIR) was registered on August 9 under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girls returned home around 5am the next day but initially did not disclose the assault.
On August 7, one of the girls confided in her aunt about the incident. The swimming pool, named MK Swimming Pool, is located near the northern border of North Delhi. The girls had been to the pool complex before.
During the investigation, the police recovered critical evidence including a pillow cover, bedsheet, two empty condom packets, and a digital video recorder (DVR) from the pool. The DVR was also seized for evidence gathering purposes.
For two days, the traumatized girls remained silent as the accused had allegedly threatened to kill them if they spoke about the assault. The girls' medical examinations were conducted and their statements were recorded before a judicial magistrate.
Anil Kumar and Munil Kumar, who have no prior criminal record, were booked for gangrape, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and aggravated sexual assault. The police team arrested the two accused on August 10.
It is important to note that the pool is owned by a person named Pawan, who has no role in the crime. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for stricter laws and increased vigilance to protect children from such heinous crimes.
