Wuppertaler SV Gears Up for Busy August Schedule
The Wuppertaler SV (WSV) is set for an action-packed August, with several key matches lined up. The games against FC Schalke 04 U23, 1. FC Köln U21, and SC Wiedenbrück are scheduled for the 14th, 17th, and 23rd of August respectively, all to be held at Stadion am Zoo, Franz-Kremer-Stadion, and Stadion am Zoo respectively.
In a significant development, Alwin Weber has returned to training with the team, while Kadi Atmaca is being cautiously managed after a muscle tear. Alessio Arambasic, who recently completed his suspension, shone in the WSV's 7:0 victory over TSV Krefeld-Bockum in the first round of the Niederrheinpokal. Arambasic started in the squad and scored the 5th goal shortly after halftime (47th minute), marking a successful competitive return.
The WSV's upcoming match is a Regionalliga West game on the 17th of August, at 14:00, against the Borussia Dortmund U23 team at Stadion Rote Erde. Tickets for the main tribune cost 12 euros (reduced 9 euros), while standing place tickets are available for WSV fans for the league game in Dortmund via the BVB ticket shop.
Interestingly, the match between Krefeld and Borussia Dortmund U23 will be hosted by Krefeld, despite waiving their home advantage for organizational reasons. Meanwhile, Dortmund U23 achieved a 5:3 win against Sportfreunde Lotte on the 15th of August, despite being relegated from the 3rd league.
The WSV will also face SC Wiedenbrück on the 13th of September, again at Stadion am Zoo. WSV season tickets are not valid for the match on the 16th of August, 2025.
As for the regions where the WSV will be initially placed, this will be clear by the time these games are played. The squad size for the WSV is expected to increase by then. The WSV aims to bounce back after a 0:5 defeat against Rödinghausen.
