In a significant development, SV Darmstadt 98, a second-tier German football club, has sealed deals with two 18-year-old defensive talents, Tim Arnold and Max Pfister, securing their professional contracts. The club made the announcement on an unspecified date in May 2025.

Paul Fernie, the sporting director of SV Darmstadt 98, expressed his approval of the signings, stating, "Max and Tim epitomize our commitment to providing young players with an early taste of men's football via the U21 team. Both have demonstrated promising potential and an unwavering eagerness to learn."

Although eligible to play for the U19 squad, Arnold and Pfister primarily showcased their skills with the U21 team in the Hessenliga, the fifth tier of German football. Arnold has already featured in 26 games for the club, while Pfister has played 27 games for Darmstadt's second team.

Arnold and Pfister are anticipated to join the first team for the upcoming 2nd Bundesliga season, bringing their defensive abilities to the fore. The exact terms and date of their contracts were not disclosed in the available information.

The Commission has not yet adopted a decision on the application of Article 93 (2) of the Treaty, as it focuses on the transfer of Tim Arnold and Max Pfister, two 18-year-old defensive stars from SV Darmstadt 98, to the professional league. These talented football players, who have made a name for themselves in European leagues through their performance in the German Hessenliga, are expected to strengthen the defense of the first team when they join for the upcoming 2nd Bundesliga season.
