Two-day festival packed with diverse music and a positive atmosphere
The Cultural Summer Festival, known locally as Kultursommer, is set to return to Oldenburg, Germany, on July 5th, 2025. This annual event promises a day filled with free musical and cultural performances in the heart of the city.
The festival is a collaboration between the Economic and Tourism Association Oldenburg, Kulturbund Wagrien e. V., numerous clubs and associations, and the local bank, all of whom are thanked in advance for their support.
Lothar Wenzel, accompanied by Ralph Schlunk, will take the stage at 1:30 PM, offering a blend of swing, jazz, and more, as well as dance performances. Live music and pan playing will be provided by Markus "Obbe" Obladen.
The KultTour organizing team is pleased with the participation of volunteers, clubs, associations, artisans, musicians, and exhibitors in shaping the day. Highlights of the festival include clowning, magic, and balloon art with Franco Confetti & Polina, a bouncy castle, interactive activities, and an Aquazorb arena around the town hall for children.
For the younger audience, DJ Mirko will host a children's and family disco from 4:00 PM. Dance performances will be presented by Tanzschule Beuck and the Bewegungsatelier.
The festival will also feature a musical warm-up on Friday, July 4th, with a musical event at the Pumpenplatz starting at 5:00 PM. The official opening of the Cultural Summer Festival 2025 will take place at 11:00 AM on the town hall stage, led by Mayor Jörg Saba and Mirko Franck from KulTour gGmbH, with the winners of this year's Stadtradeln being announced.
Two stages will be set up for Saturday evening, offering different atmospheres. The town hall stage from 7:00 PM will feature the Old Market Club and DJs TIMR & JADEN, providing energetic club sounds for the younger generation. The Pumpenplatz stage from 8:00 PM will host a live concert by SITTING BULL, a trio that brings rock classics back to life with wit and skill.
Regional cuisine will be available at the festival, and Mirko Meier will provide moderation with interviews and live actions on stage. The St. Johannis Toten- und Schutzengilde of 1192 e. V., the Marine Kameradschaft Oldenburg, and the Heiligenhafen Gildkapelle will provide musical accompaniment for the opening ceremony.
