Two Christmas Eve accidents disrupt Allgäu roads amid icy conditions

Two separate road accidents occurred in the Allgäu region on Christmas Eve. The first involved a collision on the B16 near Kaufbeuren, while the second took place on the A96 close to Memmingen. Both incidents resulted in minor injuries, with emergency services responding to the scenes.

On December 24, 2025, at around 3 PM, two vehicles crashed on the A96 near Memmingen. Two people, including a young child, suffered light injuries and received treatment from paramedics. Police confirmed the details shortly after the incident.

Earlier the same day, another collision happened on the B16 federal highway near Kaufbeuren. Those involved escaped with only slight injuries. Firefighters took control of traffic while recovery teams worked to clear the road, which remains temporarily closed. The accidents follow an ice warning issued by the German Weather Service for the entire Allgäu region. Slippery conditions likely contributed to the hazardous driving conditions.

Emergency crews managed both incidents without serious harm to those involved. The A96 crash saw two people, including a toddler, treated for minor injuries. Meanwhile, the B16 remains shut as authorities continue recovery efforts under icy weather warnings.
