Twitch star Jynxzi hits Steam ban after dodging $2K spending cap
Popular Twitch streamer Nicholas Stewart, known online as Jynxzi, has faced a three-day suspension from the Steam Marketplace. The ban followed his attempt to bypass a daily spending limit while purchasing in-game items. Known for his loud and dramatic style, Jynxzi publicly pleaded with Valve to lift the restriction—but without success.
Jynxzi rose to fame as the leading Rainbow Six: Siege streamer on Twitch, often drawing over 50,000 viewers at his peak in 2024. By 2025, however, he began shifting focus and, in March 2026, started streaming Counter-Strike 2 instead.
The ban started after he hit Steam's $2,000 daily deposit cap for U.S. users. To work around the limit, he accepted a Steam gift card—an action that triggered an automatic 72-hour Market restriction. The penalty barred him from trading or using the Steam Marketplace until March 26, 2026. In response, Jynxzi posted a dramatic black-and-white video on social media, set to melancholic music, begging Valve co-founder Gabe Newell to intervene. Despite the public appeal, the company did not reverse the ban, leaving the restriction in place until its scheduled end.
The incident highlights Steam's strict enforcement of spending rules, even for high-profile users. Jynxzi's suspension ended as planned, with no early reversal from Valve. He has since continued streaming Counter-Strike 2 on Twitch.
