A young twenty-something meets an unfortunate end on the A2 highway close to Braunschweig.
In a twist of fate, a passenger in a quarter-century-old vehicle collided with a trailer truck around midnight on a Wednesday, according to authorities. The exact reasons for this mishap near the Brunswick Airport remain elusive.
The duo were on a trip to Berlin when the incident occurred. The impact sent the twenty-year-old flying from the car. Luckily, the driver was able to pull the young man to safety and administer initial aid. Both individuals were then rushed to the hospital, where the passenger succumbed to his injuries.
Miraculously, the driver of the car and the thirty-one-year-old truck driver escaped unscathed from the accident. The accident had the motorway closed for hours, with legal proceedings initiated against multiple drivers for failing to establish a safety corridor.
Upon arrival, the police started investigating the cause of the accident. Given the gravity of the situation, they advised other drivers to maintain a safe distance on the A2 motorway.
