"TVETH advocates for free-market economy" in his latest album "Private Property"

Hey there, pal! Let's dive into the latest drop by TVETH, that Ufa-based hip-hop beast. The dude's fifth solo album, "PRIVATE PROPERTY," is out and surfaced some deep thoughts about the rat race for success and innermost peace.

TVETH started rockin' the mic scene back in 2011 after he kicked graffiti crew 0767 to the curb and went solo with "Trapeza Pomola." Flash forward to 2016, he teamed up with JEEMBO to release the off-the-chain mini-album, PAINKILLER, which became their signature series.

2020 marked the start of his independent career, but before that, he had already collaborated with Booking Machine and released KOMPRESSOR with LIL SMOOKY and AIRBAG alongside SEVNZ in 2024. He even dropped a track with Black Economy's FORTUNA not too long ago.

With nearly a million listeners on Yandex Music per month, this guy's no stranger to the limelight. On the eve of "PRIVATE PROPERTY's release, Young sat down for a chat with TVETH to talk about future plans, the painkillin' series, creative experiments, and his thoughts on the Ruzzian hip-hop scene.

"Mad" Tunes

  • So, why the hell is the album called "PRIVATE PROPERTY"? Is this a nod towards personal space, financial absolute power, or is it something more philosophical?

Turns out, it's all that stuff. The dude was feelin' himself, and when more than half of the tracks were already written, he realized they all shared a common thread. "PRIVATE PROPERTY" in the broadest sense - name fits like a glove.

  • In your new joint with BATO, "АЗБУКА," the lyrics hint at being ready to switch off emotions for the sake of success. Is this a reflection of your current life phase or a commentary on the state of the hip-hop industry? Which album themes are most significant to you?

Ain't no reflection of his current life now, good buddy. It's all about the emotions and thoughts that have been brewing over the past two years. There's a lot of money and achievement talk, but overall, the vibe of the album takes priority.

  • What were you tryna emphasize in "PRIVATE PROPERTY"?

He wanted to hammer home the point that everything's relative, man. He went back and listened to KOMPRESSOR and realized it had all this introspection and heartfelt shit. This time around, he wanted to focus on the here and now - something more tangible and real, ya know?

  • Alright, ya get the message - what are the key ideas you're tryna communicate with this release?

He always pens albums to express his thoughts, not preach to the masses. Just gotta get it all out there. Compared to his previous works, he aimed to make something more uplifting, maybe even a little radical.

  • Yo, you recently wrote on Telegram that "PRIVATE PROPERTY" boasts "minimal lyrics" - just the facts, not garbage. What gives, my G?

Minimal, indeed. When he looks at his previous work from the outside, he sees he had a lot of lyrics - but he's all about the gritty, aggressive music. So, he intentionally focused on the darker sounds for this album.

  • Care to spill the beans about the guest features on the album? Besides BATO, who else did you team up with and why did you select these artists?

He hooked up with VELIAL SQUAD for the "ECONOMIKA" track - knew he needed a duo for it, searched high and low for the right sound, and landed on these fellas. METOX is another collaborator. He's into METOX's music, wanted to do something underground with him.

  • We're just days away from the album drop on streaming platforms. What's the vibe like now, homey? Gotta be pumped to see what the fans think, right?

Definitely has that birthin'-a-baby feel. It's always exciting to get the first reaction - in the first day or two. At the same time, he's already workin' on other stuff - shiftin' focus forward. Still got those butterflies, though - especially when releasing a big project that's been long-awaited.

But he ain't dwellin' on what the reaction will be - just crossin' his fingers for more positive feedback on "АЗБУКА."

  • Alright, lemme ask ya, what are you workin' on these days?

Hella HILLZ collective (including JEEMBO, TVETH, and BATO) is planin' to record a full-length album, and simultaneously, he's workin' on his new EP. He reckons he can drop it by the end of the year.

  • I was gonna ask about the Hella HILLZ work, particularly the PAINKILLER trilogy with JEEMBO, which became your hallmark. Many fans are hangin' on for PAINKILLER IV. Is there a chance it'll show up?

He thinks it's unlikely - PAINKILLER was conceived as three releases, each with six tracks. He thinks it should stay that way. They'll be doin' other things moving forward, nawmean?

  • So, what's the new Hella HILLZ project ya talkin' about gonna be like? Will it reference the PAINKILLER sound, or is it gonna be somethin' new?

Nah, no revival bullshit, buddy. They're thinkin' about somethin' like a horror-style album. Usually, one person initiates a track, and the others jump in. Whatever happens, it won't be an attempt to relive past glory.

He ain't into recycling the past for the sake of recycling. Even if he tries to recreate the old vibe, it ain't gonna be the same as it was back then. Shit changes, ya know? Better, worse - just different. So, no point in draggin' the past along.

  • So, remember when you told The Flow in 2019 that you used to chase style, but then you started focusin' more on message? How do you balance between technique and what you want to express in your music now?

Whaddaya know, that's still relevant. He brought his skills to a point that satisfies him. Now he's all about findin' somethin' fresh. If we're talkin' technique, he's got no questions for himself. As for the message, he just lets his feelings flow and ensures there's emotional weight in his tracks, not just bullshit style.

Five Percent of Full Retard

  • So everybody knows you for the dark and aggressive creative image. Yet you're a total mellow cat, went to uni, engineer with the bloody diploma and all. In "PRIVATE PROPERTY," which one are you - the real Dima or the dark TVETH?

In "PRIVATE PROPERTY," it's about 95% the real personal self, and the remaining 5% is sheer lunacy, brosef.

  • What is success for ya now? Is it about streams, bank account stacks, recognition, or inner peace?

All of it, dude. It's about overall success, both musically and personally. Money and success are part of it, but he wants to avoid stagnation.

  • Don't think ya regret choosin' music over an engineering career, right?

Hell no! He thinks he coulda crushed it in another field, but creativity woulda taken a back seat. Lucky for him, he stayed in music - he got an audience that digs his vibe and shares his values. That's priceless, homey.

  • But ya kind've a private artist, man. Few interviews, plenty of mystery surroundin' ya. Is this a strategy or just how it happened organically?

Nope, just happened naturally. He always thought that his music spoke for itself. Sometimes he shows up at cool events to shoot the shit with folks, but for the most part, he's comfy when his creativity is doin' all the talkin'.

  • Your album title "PRIVATE PROPERTY" could be seen as a metaphor for your desire to maintain personal space, nah?

Ya might be right about that, bro. Never thought about it that way, but it sounds sick. Yeah, it could be like that.

In the album "PRIVATE PROPERTY", TVETH, or Goncharuk, intertwines personal space, financial power, and philosophical ideals, giving it a fitting title. In the song "АЗБУКА", the lyrics suggest a readiness to compromise emotions for success, but this is not a reflection of his current life phase, but rather thoughts that have been brewing for the past two years. TVETH aimed to make "PRIVATE PROPERTY" more relatable and tangible, focusing on the here and now, as opposed to KOMPRESSOR which had introspective and heartfelt elements. With nearly a million listeners on Yandex Music, Goncharuk, the young Russian rapper, is no stranger to the entertainment limelight. Luckily for him, he found an outlet for his creativity in music, leaving behind his engineering degree and graffiti crew 0767.

Inthe recently released album 'PRIVATE PROPERTY', artist TVETH delves into a darker musical style, characterized by sparse lyrics, narrative absence of suffering, and a blunt portrayal of reality. Our platform had the opportunity to converse with the musician, discussing his decision to tackle this specific theme.
