TV Provides Tips on a Wednesday
In the world of German television, there's something for everyone this week. Here's a rundown of some of the most exciting shows and events.
On ZDF, Markus Lanz hosts a special evening with tennis legend Boris Becker and his wife Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro. The couple discusses Boris' new book and shares insights into their family happiness.
In the realm of baking, "Das große Backen" is reaching its climax. The grand finale promises an edible greenhouse filled with plant-based mini-baked goods. Meanwhile, on Sat.1, candidates are challenged to create a macaron cake adorned with fine flowers.
On RTL, "Das Sommerhaus der Stars - Kampf der Promipaare" is heating up with tensions, alleged liars being exposed, and several couples breaking down early in the game. On the other hand, Liam Neeson takes centre stage in the thriller "Non-Stop" on RTLzwei, where he plays a hard-boiled Air Marshal fighting terrorists on an airplane.
Meanwhile, in the crime drama "Wilsberg", Ekki is attacked by a debtor, and Wilsberg finds himself in a shocking discovery when he visits a former patient's apartment. Dr. Britta Lüders asks Wilsberg for help as her former patient, Oliver Busch, is spreading false accusations on the internet.
Elsewhere, Irene, played by Uschi Glas, falls victim to a grandma scam, losing her jewellery, her late husband's wedding ring, and watch. However, Helene (Katharina Thalbach) steps in to prevent Irene from withdrawing into isolation and becomes part of a group of friends.
In a more dramatic turn of events, the mood is low in "Tara und Silva" with disappointment, frustration, and tears. Tara criticises Silva's behaviour, but he remains unimpressed.
Finally, in the thriller "Non-Stop", Liam Neeson's character, Air Marshal Bill Marks, finds himself targeted and fighting against time to find out who he can still trust, high in the air. The villain is a mysterious figure impersonating a relative or authority figure to deceive the passengers.
As Irene moves into a retirement home, initially out of embarrassment, she finds new possibilities. In a surprising twist, Wilsberg's investigation leads to a shocking discovery in Busch's apartment, where the journalist and former drug addict lies dead.
