Get the Scoop on Sunday's Garden Show:
Kiwi, the beloved moderator of the German horticultural show, "Garden Show," was all set to celebrate her 25th season this Sunday. However, the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran are forcing a change in plans. The celebrated 60-year-old, residing in Tel Aviv, won't be able to host the event. In a surprising turn of events, two familiar faces, Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst, will lend a helping hand as moderators.
A Little Background:Joachim Llambi is a renowned figure in German television, known for his role as a judge on the popular dance show "Let's Dance." Lutz van der Horst, on the other hand, is a frequent face on the "heute-Show." Interestingly, both were already scheduled to be guests on the show, as announced by ZDF.
This open-air show at the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz-Lerchenberg has been gracing our screens since 1986. Kiwi has been at the helm since 2000, replacing the likes of Ilona Christen and Ramona Leiß. The current season began on May 4 and is set to run until the end of September, with this Sunday's show focusing on Kiwi's 25th anniversary.
The Big Event:Announced guests for the anniversary show include Marianne Rosenberg, Eko Fresh, Peter Schilling, Tom Gaebel, René Casselly, and Kathrin Menzinger, alongside ESC legends Katja Ebstein, Guildo Horn, and Johnny Logan.
Kiwi was eagerly anticipating the anniversary, expressing in an interview with DWDL, "I'm really looking forward to the anniversary show with my great friend Joachim Llambi and the fantastic Guido Maria Kretschmer by my side. That will be a lively trio." Sadly, she has remained silent on the matter since the recent hostilities between Israel and Iran.
In an interview with "Bild am Sonntag," Kiwi shared her love for her second home in Israel. "During the Garden Show season, I usually arrange it so that I board the plane at 6 p.m. on Sunday and unlock my little apartment in Tel Aviv at midnight (...)." This isn't possible now due to the ongoing conflicts between Israel and Iran.
