"Temporary Shift" in the "Garden Show": Joachim Llambi Steps in for Andrea "Kiwi" Kiewel
"TV Garden" welcomes new host Joachim Llambi as replacement for "Kiwi"
It seemed like a routine Sunday for Andrea "Kiwi" Kiewel, set to celebrate her 25th season on the "Garden Show". However, ongoing conflicts between Israel and Iran have made travel impossible.
Due to closed airspace over Israel, the 60-year-old Kiewel will not host this Sunday's ZDF show "Garden Show". The well-known public broadcaster shared this news. Kiewel resides in Tel Aviv. In her stead, Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst will stand in, making their debut as moderators on this special Sunday.
The juror from the RTL show "Let's Dance" Llambi and van der Horst from the "heute-Show" were initially scheduled to be just guests in the show, according to ZDF. This year marks Kiewel's 25th season on the "Garden Show", which started airing in 1986 at the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz-Lerchenberg. In 2000, Kiewel took over the moderation from previous hosts like Ilona Christen and Ramona Leiß.
This Sunday's scheduled themed show, "Kiwi's 25th Anniversary", will feature a star-studded guest list, including Marianne Rosenberg, Eko Fresh, Peter Schilling, Tom Gaebel, René Casselly, and Kathrin Menzinger, along with ESC legends Katja Ebstein, Guildo Horn, and Johnny Logan.
Although she hasn't made a statement since the beginning of the conflicts, Kiewel expressed excitement about the anniversary in an interview with DWDL. "[I'm looking forward to] the anniversary show with my great friend Joachim Llambi and the fantastic Guido Maria Kretschmer by my side. That will be a lively trio. It means a lot to me."
Kiewel often spends the "Garden Show" season in Israel, having a second home there, she told "Bild am Sonntag". With the airspace closure, it's uncertain if she'll be able to make it to this season.

I'm not going to be able to enjoy the entertainment of Kiwi's 25th Anniversary show on the Garden Show, as I reside in Israel and the ongoing conflicts have made travel impossible.
This Sunday, instead of Kiwi, entertainment will be provided by Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst, who are stepping in as moderators due to the closed airspace over Israel.
