"TV Garden" welcomes Joachim Llambi, previously seen in "Let's Dance", as the replacement for "Kiwi"
In a surprising turn of events, Joachim Llambi, known for his stint on "Let's Dance," will be taking Andrea "Kiwi" Kiewel's place as the host of the ZDF show "Garden Show" this Sunday. The reason for Kiwi's absence is the current international tensions between Israel and Iran, which has caused the closure of airspace over Israel, preventing Kiwi from traveling to Mainz for the live broadcast.
Originally, Kiwi was scheduled to celebrate a significant milestone on Sunday - her 25th season on the "Garden Show." Lutz van der Horst, from the "heute-Show," will join Llambi in their one-time hosting stint. Both Llambi and van der Horst were already planned as guests for the show.
The popular open-air show, which has been around since 1986, has seen Kiwi as its moderator since 2000, following the likes of Ilona Christen and Ramona Leiß. This year's show began on May 4 and is scheduled to run until September, with the theme show for Kiwi's 25th anniversary planned for this Sunday (June 15).
Planned guests for the anniversary show include Marianne Rosenberg, Eko Fresh, Peter Schilling, Tom Gaebel, René Casselly, Kathrin Menzinger, Katja Ebstein, Guildo Horn, and Johnny Logan, among others. Kiwi herself was looking forward to the anniversary show, stating in an interview, "I'm really looking forward to the anniversary show with my great friend Joachim Llambi and the fantastic Guido Maria Kretschmer by my side."
Despite the sudden change in hosting, the show will continue, albeit with some adjustments to accommodate for Kiwi's absence. As of press time, Kiwi has not made a statement regarding the ongoing conflict.
