Another Departure to the Island: Hansen Leaves FC Bayern - Tuva Hansen leaves Bayern Munich for West Ham after trophy-laden era
Tuva Hansen is leaving FC Bayern Munich women's team after three successful seasons. The Norwegian defender has signed with West Ham United in England. Her exit comes just months after teammate Lea Schüller moved to Manchester United.
Hansen joined Bayern in 2021 and quickly became a key player. Over three years, she made 77 appearances and helped the team win three Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, and two Supercups. The club currently leads the league and remains on track to defend their title this season.
Earlier in 2024, Bayern secured their first competitive win with a 3–0 victory over RB Leipzig. They have also progressed in the DFB-Pokal and will face either Manchester United or Atlético Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Hansen's departure follows that of striker Lea Schüller, who left for Manchester United earlier this year. The club has not yet announced a replacement for Hansen in the coaching or playing squad.
Bayern will now focus on maintaining their league lead and Champions League campaign without Hansen. The defender leaves behind a strong record, having contributed to multiple trophies during her time in Munich. Her next challenge will be adapting to the Women's Super League with West Ham.
