Prepare for Traffic Chaos as the City Transforms into a Sports Hub

Get ready, sports enthusiasts! The city of Turin will be buzzing with energy tomorrow as it hosts two major road events: the TuttaDritta and the Granfondo Internazionale Briko Torino. Here's what you need to know about these excitement-packed events and the potential traffic and public transport changes.

TuttaDritta: The Adrenaline Rush You Can't Miss

Organized by Base Running, this 10km race is one of the most participated in Europe, with 5000 bibs assigned. The course, touted for its smooth linearity, is designed to break records. The race kicks off at Piazza Solferino at 9 am and weaves through major city avenues like Corso Re Umberto, Corso Galileo Ferraris, and Corso Unione Sovietica before reaching Nichelino along Via Torino. The finale at the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi offers one of the most stunning finishes in Italy.

Kenyan Douglas Kipserem holds the record with a time of 28 minutes and 30 seconds, and competitors will strive to beat him! The Speed Contest corporate challenge is back, open to companies willing to compete. Companies with at least five employees can enter the rankings, with the fastest and most numerous teams earning a dinner voucher for their top runners.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect from 8:20 am to around 10:30 am. Pedestrians will not be permitted to cross the course after 8:45 am. Streets closed in Turin include Piazza Solferino, Corso Re Umberto, Piazzale Costantino il Grande, Corso Galileo Ferraris, Piazzale San Gabriele da Gorizia, Corso Unione Sovietica, and the Strada del Drosso roundabout. The Lingotto underpass will be closed from 8:45 am to 10 am, as well as the Sangone bridge and the Stupinigi exits of the South Tangenziale from 8:45 am to 10:40 am.

Granfondo Briko: The Cycling Adventure of a Lifetime

Tomorrow at 8:30 am, the starting piston fires for the Granfondo Internazionale Briko Torino cycling race. This grueling 111km race begins at the Motovelodromo in Corso Casale and winds its way to Superga, passing through San Mauro and Pino Torinese. The route offers a thrilling blend of challenging climbs and breathtaking panoramas.

Corso Casale between Via Gassino and Piazza Carrara will be closed from 4:30 am to 9:30 am, while, from 8 am to 9:30 am, the stretch from Piazza Carrara to the San Mauro border will be off-limits to vehicles. The race concludes, and traffic resumes once the cyclists have passed.

Due to these events, approximately 40 GTT bus lines will experience diversions or restrictions on Sunday, May 11, 2025[4]. Specifically, lines 2, 4, 4N, 9, 10, 11, 12F, 14, 15, 16CD, and 16CS will be affected. Check local news or GTT announcements for the most current information.
