Turkish Driver Ayhancan Güven Makes History With DTM Championship Win

Turkish driver Ayhancan Güven made history by becoming the first driver from Turkey to win the DTM championship. The 2025 season saw a thrilling finale at the Hockenheimring, with Güven clinching the title by a narrow margin.

Güven, driving for Manthey EMA, faced stiff competition from eight other drivers, including Lucas Auer and Thomas Preining. The title race went down to the wire, with Güven securing the championship by just four points ahead of Auer.

Preining, who had been in contention, dropped out of the title race after a crash in lap 1 ended René Rast's race. This incident promoted Auer to fifth place. Güven had to win the final race to snatch the title from Auer, who started from position 9.

Ayhancan Güven's victory marks a significant milestone for Turkish motorsport. His triumph came after a tense season filled with drama and excitement. Güven's win, by the narrowest of margins, will be remembered as one of the most thrilling DTM finales in recent years.
