In a significant development, Turkey and Belgium have joined forces to provide drones to Ukraine, marking a shift in Turkey's foreign policy. This decision was made at a meeting of the organisation's committee held in Riga on July 2.

The coalition, which now comprises 20 countries, includes Latvia, Britain, Ukraine, Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey, Germany, and Sweden.

Turkey's decision to sell drones to Ukraine was previously announced by the Latvian Defense Ministry. Belgium, too, has joined the coalition in support of Ukraine's drone capabilities.

The governments of the coalition countries have set tasks for the creation of an "army of drones operating in the air, on land, and at sea." While the specific countries participating in a coalition for the purchase of drones for Ukraine as of July 2, 2023, are not explicitly detailed, several countries have been involved in supporting Ukraine's drone capabilities.

Countries like the UK and Denmark are involved in joint drone production projects with Ukraine, setting up manufacturing sites and transferring technology to support Ukraine's military. The international drone coalition, which includes U.S. drone makers like Neros, has been providing drones to Ukraine. Neros, for instance, has a contract to supply 6,000 drones to Ukraine over six months.

Other European countries, such as Sweden, are part of broader capability coalitions supporting Ukraine, though their specific involvement in drone purchases might not be detailed.

This global support for Ukraine's drone capabilities is a testament to the international community's commitment to aid Ukraine in its ongoing conflict. As the situation evolves, it is expected that more countries will join the coalition, further strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities.
