Tuesday night's rematch sees a struggling FC Ingolstadt II to suffer a defeat

In a disappointing turn of events, FC Ingolstadt II suffered a 1-2 defeat at the hands of ASV Neumarkt in their Bayernliga Nord catch-up game. The loss marks the second defeat for the Schanzers in the fourth game of the season.

The match, characterized by wild play, saw FC Ingolstadt's lineup consisting of Eßlinger, Lakatos, Bagaric, Uhuns (replaced by Breitschaft at 74th minute), Ambrosio (replaced by Ham at 62nd minute), Chirinos, Haas (replaced by Nottrodt at 46th minute), Bakic (replaced by Keller at 66th minute), Osei Tutu, Bachmann (replaced by Drakulic at 46th minute), and Sekulovic.

Despite a valiant effort, FC Ingolstadt struggled to create chances, partly due to bad luck. The problem that prevented the Schanzers from scoring in the final third was a recurring issue in the first three games of the season.

The hosts, ASV Neumarkt, on the other hand, had difficulty handling the wild play created by FC Ingolstadt's long balls and rebounds. Selim Mjaki scored the opening goal for ASV Neumarkt in the 13th minute, making it 1-0. Marlon Misetic later added a second goal from eleven meters after a long throw-in, making it 2-0.

Coach Patrick Schönfeld criticized his team for lacking clarity, taking too many touches, and having poor defensive cover. ASV Neumarkt, on the other hand, showed little interest in playing football and scored almost exclusively with long balls.

In the second half, Johann Chrinos' shot hit the crossbar, then the post, and finally fell into the ASV keeper's arms. Despite Davide Sekulovic scoring a consolation goal for FC Ingolstadt in the final minute, making it 2-1, it was too late to affect the outcome of the game.

Looking ahead, FC Ingolstadt will look to bounce back in their next game, a home game against FSV Stadeln on Saturday at 14:00. The team will be hoping for a better performance and a much-needed victory to boost their morale and position in the Bayernliga Nord standings.
