Green Bay Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Sustains Left Knee Injury

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft, who had a career-high performance against the Commanders last week, sustained a left knee injury during Thursday's practice. According to NFL Media, the injury is described as a "little tweak."

Kraft, a 2023 third-round pick out of South Dakota State, caught six passes for 124 yards and a touchdown against the Commanders. His impressive performance earned him a spot among only three tight ends with a touchdown in both games this season, along with Zach Ertz of the Commanders and Davis Allen of the Rams.

Ian Rapoport has noted that Kraft's injury is not expected to be a long-term issue. However, if he is out for an extended period, the backup tight end for the Packers would be Jake Ferguson.

Last season, Kraft had 50 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns. In his rookie year, he had 31 catches for 377 yards and two touchdowns. Green Bay also has tight ends Ben Sims and John FitzPatrick on the active roster.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Jayden Reed is out due to a fractured collarbone and is on IR. In Reed's absence, wide receivers Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Matthew Golden may see increased targets.

Luke Musgrave could step into the starting role if Kraft misses any time. Musgrave, who was a practice squad player last season, has yet to see significant playing time this season.

In addition, Josh Whyle is on the Green Bay practice squad. Whyle, a rookie from San Diego State, could potentially be called up to the active roster if needed.

Kraft caught a touchdown pass in Week 1 against the Lions. The Packers will hope for a speedy recovery for their promising tight end as they continue their season.
