Trump's plan to assassinate Mullah Chief reportedly presented by Israel
MAN, THE TENSION BETWEEN ISRAEL AND IRAN JUST GOT REAL!
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli PM, dropped a bombshell in an interview with Fox News. He hinted that the Iranian regime could crumble, stating that a majority of Iranians yearn for the end of their Islamist state leaders.
"Could it happen? Hell yeah!" Netanyahu said, regarding the toppling of the Iranian leadership. Now, that's some talk, isn't it? But, Netanyahu wasn't up for commenting on a juicy Reuters report that President Donald Trump objected to an Israeli plot to whack Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader.
Well, Trump ain't one to mess around, and he apparently ain't too keen on this assassination gig. According to reports, the White House got a briefing on an Israeli plan to off Ayatollah Khamenei, but Trump told emphatically "No!" He thinks it ain't a smart move, all whilst worrying about further destabilizing the messed-up region[2][4].
Now, the Iranian news agency Tasnim, supposedly a mouthpiece for the Revolutionary Guards, went and released images of wrecked homes. The streets leading out of Tehran looked like a frickin' parking lot as people fled in fear of Israeli attacks.
What's the beef between these countries? Israel's claim to fame is that they're trying to prevent Iran from whipping up a nuclear bomb[5]. But, don't go thinking Iran's innocence is untouched. They stick to their story that their nuclear program serves purely peaceful intentions.
According to Israeli sources, the uranium enrichment facility in Natans was among the targets, and from what an Israeli official told the Wall Street Journal, the underground part of the nuclear facility might have imploded[5]. But, you'll have to wait for further investigation on that one.
