President Donald Trump's promise to provide universal insurance coverage for IVF fertility treatments during his 2024 campaign has not been fulfilled, according to comedian Andrew Schulz.

During a campaign rally in Michigan last August, Trump announced that under his administration, all costs associated with IVF treatment would be paid for or insurance companies would be mandated to pay for them. However, no concrete steps were taken after he signed an executive order aimed only at easing regulatory burdens to make IVF more affordable, and the promised insurance mandates never materialized.

Schulz, who previously interviewed Trump and voted for him in the November election, has been increasingly critical in recent weeks over what he perceives as broken promises from the president. In his latest podcast, "Flagrant," he blasted Trump for flip-flopping "once again" on his campaign promise regarding IVF coverage.

The Domestic Policy Council was directed to find ways to make IVF and other fertility treatments more affordable. However, the White House did not respond to requests for comment from Digital.

Schulz directed his followers to a charity that helps pay for IVF services, @babyquestgrants.

Trump's efforts to expand access to fertility treatments have received mixed reviews from experts. While the executive order aims to reduce out-of-pocket costs for IVF and other fertility treatments, some argue that it does not go far enough to provide universal coverage.

Roughly one year ago, Trump pledged that he would mandate free in vitro fertilization treatment for women if he won a second term. However, his administration has not taken any concrete steps to fulfill this promise.
