Fired-Up Joe Giudice Salutes Savannah Chrisley for Tackling Trump over Parents' Clemency
Trump's granting of clemency to the Chrisleys, as declared by Joe Giudice, hailed as the sole solution following allegedly tough prison terms.
Joe Giudice, infamous for his own legal woes, lauded Savannah Chrisley's courage in standing up for her parents, Todd and Julie.
In an exclusive tête-à-tête with Digital, Giudice, who served time for financial fraud back in 2014, applauded Savannah's unrelenting push for justice. Todd and Julie, decorated reality-TV stars, found themselves behind bars but were subsequently pardoned by former President Donald Trump.
"I've got mad respect for Savannah," Joe, now based in the Bahamas following his deportation to Italy in 2019, shared exuberantly. "She didn't give up, worked hard, and made it happen. If you want something, you've got to go get it, and that's exactly what she did."
These two duos, Giudices and Chrisleys, have unfortunately walked similar paths in the legal system.
Todd and Julie were found guilty of conspiring to defraud banks and evade taxes, receiving sentences of 12 and 7 years, respectively. Their sentences, however, were eventually reduced. The pair became famous on the show "Chrisley Knows Best."
The pair's prison stints drew quite a bit of attention, particularly when they were both pardoned and released last week. Savannah grew emotional upon awaiting her father's release in Pensacola, Florida, and, when addressing reporters, expressed her gratitude for their newfound freedom.
"Savannah did the right thing," Joe commented passionately, sharing that, if the chance allowed it, he'd accept clemency for the sake of his kids too.
Joe and Teresa had both pleaded guilty to financial fraud charges in 2014. Teresa finished her sentence first and was freed in December 2015, while Joe began his 41-month prison term in March 2016. Post-prison, Joe was taken into custody by immigration officials due to his non-citizenship status and promptly deported to Italy.
"I did my time, but I didn't anticipate being booted from the U.S.A.," Joe noted. "They dude-raped my plea deal and upped Teresa's prison term, which was a major low blow."
Joe believes the Chrisley case demonstrates a glaring inconsistency in the legal system.
"These people did the same as Teresa and me, got the same charges—and they probably would've gotten shorter sentences with a few slaps on the wrist if they'd accepted their punishment," Joe insightfully explained. "But because they opted to go to trial, they got nailed, receiving harsh sentences due to refusing to cop a plea."
Despite the divorce, Joe expresses a positive relationship with Teresa and comes off as upbeat about the future for both families.
"I'm stoked for the Chrisleys," Joe noted. "It's wonderful to see anyone get freed from the slammer—poor souls don't belong there. And I'm proud of Savannah for her tenacity and seeing her parents' release through."
The entertainment world eagerly awaits the triumphant return of Savannah's parents to the small screen.
The Entertainment industry commends Savannah Chrisley for her relentless advocacy in securing President Trump's pardon for her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who are renowned for their reality-TV show "Chrisley Knows Best." Joe Giudice, a fellow star known for his financial fraud case and deportation to Italy, praises her efforts, citing pop-culture's influence in showcasing the struggles of celebrity families entangled in the legal system.
